Cabinet and Bath Hardware, Decorative Hooks & Wall Plates

When necessary, cabinet hardware is best cleaned with warm water, mild soap and a soft cloth.

Functional Hardware

Hinges
If needed, Amerock hinges and other functional hardware can be wiped with a clean soft cloth. There is no maintenance necessary to ensure the functionality of the product. Many hinges have been lubricated to ensure optimal performance and long-lasting durability. The product should not be exposed to extreme temperatures, chemicals or solvents, excessive dirt or sawdust or any staining material. Such exposure may break down the composition of the lubricating agent and negatively impact the performance of the product.

Drawer Slides
Drawer slides have been engineered for use indoors. They have been lubricated at the factory to ensure the expected life of the slide. To clean the slides, periodically wipe with a soft cloth being careful not to remove grease on the slides during cleaning as it may shorten the life of the product and prevent smooth operation. The lubrication present on the slides is needed to ensure optimal operation and long life of the slides. The performance of the slides can also be negatively impacted by extreme temperatures, which can cause the lubrication to break down. Also, be wary of excessive humidity, chemicals, over spray of stains and lacquers used in cabinet making, sawdust, dirt, and other particles that can come in contact with the slides.

If your current hole pattern is smaller than your new pull size, then use a backplate. The backplate will cover the old holes. If your current hole pattern is larger than your new pull size, then you can use a backplate or one of our decorative pulls with a large footprint that will cover the old holes.

Yes. See question regarding narrowing search results above.

Amerock offers appliance pulls sized 8in, 12in and 18in - measured center-to-center. These are oversized pulls that can be used, not only on appliances, but also on cabinet doors and drawers to create an on-trend look.

All appliance pulls come with pairs of #10-24 screws in 5 lengths: 3/4in, 1in, 1-1/4in, 1-1/2in, and 1-3/4in plus 2 washers.

Please refer to your appliance manufacturer’s instruction guide for installation of after-market hardware. Professional installation is recommended.

There are 3 basic door types: 1) FLUSH- door is inset into the frame so the door and frame are flush with each other. 2) INSET – part of the door insets into the frame and part overlays the door. In other words, the back of the door is routed out around the edge, usually 3/8" by 3/8". 3) OVERLAY- the back of the door is flat and it overlays the frame.

We recommend the number of hinges to use based on a ¾” thick cabinet door height. 1-35”= 2 hinges, 35-65” =3 hinges, 65-85”= 4 hinges and 85-100” = 5 hinges.

We offer a wide variety of hinges to match our knobs and pulls. Please keep in mind that not all of the hinges are available in all finishes and styles. To find out if a certain piece of our hardware is available in a specific finish, please refer to the Catalog or call Customer Service at 800-435-6959.

A load rating determines the maximum amount of weight a set of drawer slides can handle under normal usage. Load rating is based on an 18" drawer slide; remove so load rating for short and longer drawer slides may vary slightly.

The best way to determine what type of drawer slide that you have is to match up the color, length and hole patterns with available slides.

The cabinet door overlay is the distance that the cabinet door extends past the door opening in all four directions in order to cover it. However, this distance may not be exactly equal on all four sides. So in order to accurately measure this:

  1. Close the cabinet door.
  2. Use a pencil to make a light mark on the cabinet frame using the edge of the door as your guide. Make sure you do this on the hinge side of the door.
  3. Open the door and measure from that mark over to the edge of the face frame.

NOTE: This measurement is normally in the range of 1/4" to 1-1/2".
