1950's

Expanded into Canada, building a plant in Meaford, Ontario

Installed state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment and processes.

Designed, patented and manufactured the innovative self-closing cabinet door hinge.

1954

Amerock purchases 94 acres for a factory in Rockford, Illinois.

1956

The new plant was constructed in 1956.

"Amerock Corporation" became the official company name.

1960

Introduced the innovative idea of Total Residential Design Concept, “TRDC”, for matching decorative hardware throughout the home to include bath hardware, locksets, electrical switch plate, and cabinet hardware.

Designed, patented, and manufactured the revolutionary demountable hinge program for cabinet manufacturers.

1970

Amerock was among the first to use a mobile merchandising van for sales.

1973

The first bath hardware collection, Carriage House Collection – a true American classic, was launched in two finishes. Carriage House was followed with two other collections, Monterey and Bonaventure, initially resulting in three collections in two finishes each.

1975

Amerock joins the Anchor Hocking group.

1976

Introduced innovative combinations of metal-wood-porcelain combinations.

Added Plastic Injection Molding Capabilities.
